Probasi Durga Puja 2024

Probasi of Charlotte presents four days of Pujo starting on Thursday, the 10th of October. As many of you know, we are excited and blessed to get new idols from Kumartuli, Kolkata this year. Maa has reached Charlotte with her whole family. Thank you for all your generous donations. If you did not get a chance to donate to the pratima, you can still donate to the decoration and other puja activities. Please register on our website and follow us on Facebook for regular updates.​​​​

With public demand, we are organizing an artist program outside of the Hindu Center on Friday, the 11th of October 2024, with non-veg food. Registration is open, so please register, as we have limited seats.

​আমাদের পূজো মানেই সকলের উৎসব, সন্মিলিত উদযাপন। সেই উৎসবের আমেজের সংগে আমরা আমাদের মন প্রাণ এক ক’রে অধীর আগ্রহে অপেক্ষা করি সেই দিনটির জন্যে।এই বছরটিতে প্রবাসীর নতুন দূর্গা ঠাকুরের উদ্বোধন আমাদের কাছে নিয়ে এসেছে এক নতুন উন্মাদনা। ২০২৪ এর দূর্গাপূজো শুধুমাত্র উৎসবই নয় এটা শার্লট প্রবাসীর বাঙালীদের আবেগেরই নামান্তর।তাই আমরা আমাদের পূজোর এই চারটি দিন কে মনের মতো করে নানা রঙে রসে আনুষ্ঠানিক বৈচিত্রতা ,পূজো ও তার আচার অনুষ্ঠানে ভরিয়ে তোলার জন্য সাদর অভ্যর্থনা জানাই।

​The puja will be celebrated in the Hindu Center of Charlotte, and the artist program will be held in the Unitarian Universalist Community of Charlotte. The puja starts on Thursday till Sunday. For more details, follow us on Facebook.

​​​​Very Important - Ravan Dahan/ Dussehra will be celebrated on Saturday, 12th October 2024, we are anticipating very high traffic congestion during the evening. We are planning for various activities during afternoon and also changing rooms and you are welcome to stay at the venue and skip post lunch travel to home.

Probasi of Charlotte is Proud to announce a dynamic duo for our 2024 Durga Pujo Cultural program

Piu Mukherjee – an expert Indian Classical Vocalist to the core, a multiple award winner ( like Girija Devi Puraskar, National Scholarship from Ministry of Tourism & Culture, Govt of India) and a regular artist of Khyal, Thumri, Dadra and Tappa in All India Radio, Kolkata. She has also participated in many musical shows and performances like Zee Bangla Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, BPACON Music Festival, USA, Biswa Banga Sangeet Sanmelan and proved herself as a versatile performer in the field of Music.

 

Aritra Dasgupta - a multi-faceted artist of great caliber, a Grand Finalist at Zee Bangla Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and a crowd puller. He will entice you with his melodies and put a groove to your feet. He has been performing at many recent leading shows including at Good Morning Aaaksh ( TV), DD Bangla, Sishir Moncho and more….

Durga Puja: The Colorful & Joyous Celebration!!

​

The festival represents the great victory of Goddess Durga over the Buffalo demon named Mahishasura. It's a six-day long festival observed as Mahalaya, Shashthi, Maha Saptami, Maha Ashtami, Maha Nabami and Vijayadashami. Because of many other constraints, we celebrate this in 3 days, and generally during weekends.

 

The worship of Goddess Durga for the six days of celebrations takes place on a magnificent scale among the people belonging to the state of West Bengal or other eastern part of the country. The huge and artistic pandals, magnificent idols of goddess Durga, people dancing on the beats of Dhaki (drum) and evenings surrounded with the divine tunes of Goddess Durga aarti are the unforgettable features of every Durga Puja celebration.

 

Moreover having a portion of delicious bhog, artistic views of pandals, colorful fireworks and mouthwatering food delights at various food corners held at every nook and corner let the entire city drowned in the colors of joyous Durga Puja celebration!!
